IF YOU GO TO THE NEXT SLIDE. SO 2024, WE HAVE A TOTAL OF 574 COLLISIONS.
THIS YEAR OR THIS LAST YEAR WE HAD 542. SO IT WENT DOWN THERE.
OUR INJURY COLLISIONS HOWEVER, DID GO UP BY 26 FROM 225 TO 251.
TOTAL INJURED PARTIES ALSO WENT UP FROM 301 TO 327.
WE HAD 4 FATAL COLLISIONS, WITH A TOTAL OF 4 INDIVIDUALS THAT WERE KILLED IN 2024, AND LAST YEAR WE HAD 0 FATAL COLLISIONS. SO PERCENT CHANGE FROM 2024 TO 2025 WAS A 5.2% DECREASE IN TOTAL COLLISIONS, A 12.4% INCREASE IN INJURY COLLISIONS, AND A 10.6% INCREASE IN THE NUMBER OF INJURED PARTIES FROM COLLISIONS.
AND A 100% DECREASE IN FATAL COLLISIONS. FOR E-BIKES.
I DON'T BELIEVE WE HAD THE 2024 NUMBERS, BUT FOR 2025, WE HAD 68 TOTAL COLLISIONS INVOLVING BICYCLES AND E-BIKES. 64 OF THOSE WOUND UP WITH INJURIES A TOTAL OF 69 INJURED PARTIES FROM THOSE.

BUT I WOULD SAY USUALLY MORE OFTEN THAN NOT, IT'S AN E-BIKE THAT WE SEE INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT, NOT A NORMAL BICYCLE. I THINK ONE EXTRA THING THAT WE CAN THAT WE CAN SAY FOR SURE IS THAT THE LIKELIHOOD OF GETTING INJURED IF YOU'RE ON A BIKE IS CERTAINLY HIGHER. IF YOU'RE RIDING A CLASS THREE E-BIKE. SO THERE'S A LOT OF RULES FOR ALL THAT STUFF.
WE DO. WE WORK IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE SCHOOLS BECAUSE THE MIDDLE SCHOOLS AND THE HIGH SCHOOL, IN ORDER TO RIDE YOUR BIKE TO SCHOOL AND BE ABLE TO LEAVE IT ON CAMPUS, YOU HAVE TO HAVE A STICKER.
I THINK THIS WE JUST STARTED REALLY TEAMING UP WITH THEM THIS LAST SUMMER, AND I THINK WE DID 12 COURSES AND THAT WAS WITH. I THINK IT WAS LIKE AROUND 40 TO 50 STUDENTS IN EACH COURSE.
AND FROM TALKING WITH THE SCHOOL ADMINISTRATORS, THEY WANT US TO DO IT AGAIN THIS NEXT SUMMER.

SO ANYTHING LIKE A CLASS 3 OR A MOPED ARE GENERALLY NOT ALLOWED ON AN OFF-STREET BIKE PATH.
YEAH. YEAH I SEE THEM JUST CRUISING. I MEAN, THEY SEEM LIKE THEY'RE GOING 50 MILES AN HOUR.
AND LOOKING AT EVERYTHING, IF YOU DON'T KNOW IT, IT'S REALLY CONFUSING. EVEN IF YOU HAVE LIKE A CHEAT SHEET OR SOMETHING THERE. IT'S KIND OF SOMETHING WHERE YOU'RE LIKE, WHAT AM I LOOKING AT? SO. I JUST WANTED TO SAY THAT KIND OF MADE ME FEEL A LITTLE BIT MORE ENCOURAGED THINKING THAT, YOU KNOW, THERE'S A LOT OF, LIKE, SUSTAINABLE SOLUTIONS THAT CAN BE PLUGGED IN KIND OF IN, LIKE MY LOCAL AREA. SO I'D ALSO LIKE TO SEE POSSIBLY SOMETHING TOWARDS THE ICE PLANTS THAT ARE A LOT AROUND REDONDO ICE PLANTS ARE AN INVASIVE SPECIES, AND I THINK IT WOULD BE REALLY CONDUCIVE TO CREATING A STRONGER LOCAL ENVIRONMENT TO REPLACE THE ICE PLANTS WITH, LIKE, NATIVE SPECIES THAT DO A BETTER JOB OF KEEPING THE SOIL TOGETHER HOLDING ON TO RAINWATER THAT CAN ALSO PREVENT FLOODING AND EROSION.
AND LIKE LOCAL AREAS, I KNOW WE'RE SEEING A LOT OF EROSION IN PV LATELY.
